He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Lawson and Mabel Lawson (Brown); his brother Delmar Lawson; his grandson Brian Kuhn; his son-in-law Tim Bailey; and his half-brothers, Howard, Russell and Ted Schultz.
He is survived by: his wife Lillian Lawson of Ames; his children, Steve Lawson of Ames, Ralph Lawson of Ames, Gloria Meiborg (George) of Boone and Donna Lawson of Ankeny, Iowa; his grandchildren, Heather Scharm (Harold), Jenny Cruz, Mike Meiborg (Juana) and Kevin Kuhn; and his great grandchildren, Gloria Cruz, Stella Cruz, Daenerys Meiborg, Cameron Meiborg, Kamron Kuhn, Kaleb Kuhn and Malachy Kuhn. He is also survived by extended family and friends.
Social distancing is recommended.
Memorials may be given to the family or to the First Christian Church in Ames.
