He was predeceased by: his parents, Simon Faaborg and Astrid Faaborg; his wife Shirley Johnson; his siblings, Inger Marie (Emil Noelck), Sigrid (John Riddle), Einar (Elain Faaborg) and Edna Jacobsen; and his brothers-in-law, Levi Ackart and Clifford "Sam" Johnson.

He is survived by: his children, Rhett, Denise Faaborg of Nevada, Rand, Tammy Faaborg of Radcliffe and Ronna Faaborg of Ames; his grandchildren, Tara, Chad Andersen of Ankeny, Tyler Faaborg, Katie Decker of Radcliffe, Soren, Amy Faaborg of Nevada, Tanner Faaborg of Des Moines, Ranae, Kevin Dietzel of Jewell, Trey Faaborg of Ames, T. J, Lawless, Taylor Hinton of Ankeny, Riley and Calvin Hartz of Jewell; his great grandchildren, Chloe, Lucy, Simon Andersen, Ada, Otto Faaborg, Sterling, Scarlett Dietzel, Ryker and Riggs Hartz; and his siblings-in-law, Dick Jacobsen of Gig Harbor, Marcia Johnson of Ogden, Dale, Carolyn Johnson of Rudy, Arkansas and Ruby. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
