He was predeceased by: his parents, Priyakanta Ghosal and Kiranbala Ghosal; and his brothers, Pran Gopal Ghosal (Mukul), Jiban Gopal Ghosal (Anuradha) and Brojo Gopal Ghoshal.
He is survived by: his pets, Comparative, Horse, Cattle, Sheep, Goat, Pig, Poultry, Anatomy of Food, Fiber, Ruminants, Non, Laboratory and Mouse; his wife Chhanda Ghoshal; his daughter Nupur Ghoshal; his sister Sipra; and his sister-in-law Minati. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
