It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Larry D. Spear of Ames, Iowa, born in Melcher, Iowa, who passed away on September 9, 2021, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Spear and B. Irene Spear (Rhoades); and his siblings, Gerald Spear (Helen), V. Wayne Spear, Kenneth Spear and Virginia Stickley.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Kay McKee; his sons, Mark Spear (Julie) of Gilbert and Troy Spear (Kathy) of Story City; his grandchildren, Trenton Spear, Mallory Spear, Madison Spear, Kayla Spear and Kristina Gray (Austin); and his siblings-in-law, Ross Stickley and Ethel Spear. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Larry's name may be directed to Suncrest Hospice.
