He was predeceased by: his father Eldon Klaassen; and his grandparents, Marcus, Minnie Meyer, Jacob and Tillie Klaassen.

He is survived by: his mother Anna Mae Klaassen (Meyer) of Des Moines; his sisters, Lori McCrea (Sandy) of Weston, MO, Cindy Klaassen of Des Moines, Joni Klaassen of Des Moines, Ashley Sullivan (Brendan) and Megan McCrea Meigs; and his aunt Wava Hemmen.

I enjoyed many conversations over the years as neighbors on Tennesse St. Weekly most often by the mailbox right by our house. I usually was out walking my twin grandchildren, 6 years old in December. They would be riding their scooters and stop and say Hi. I will miss the conversations about life.”
