He was predeceased by: his parents, H. E. Baumgarten and Lena Baumgarten (Fritz) of Louisville, Kentucky.; his grandson Benjamin Baumgarten; and his siblings, Jim, Mary Helna Gordon (Wayne), Martha Lauzon (Joe) and Charlotte Baumgarten.
He is survived by: his wife Martha Baumgarten; his children, Joe Baumgarten (Cheryl), Jean Baumgarten and David Baumgarten (Nina); his grandchildren, Nick Baumgarten, Amelia Slaichert (Aaron), Hannah Baumgarten and Alex Baumgarten; and his brothers, H. E. Baumgarten, Jr. (Charlene) and Richard Baumgarten (Pat).
