He is survived by: his children, Maria Chavez (Miguel) of Ames, Jose Bustamante, Jr. of Owatonna, Jesus Bustamante of Ames and Diana Bustamante of Ames; his grandchildren, Brenda Soliz, Crystal Bustamante, Gloria Bustamante, Luis Soliz, Corina Bustamante, Juan A. Soliz, Jacob Joesting, Gavin Joesting, Michael A. Soliz and Jordan Joesting; his great grandchildren, Blayne and Rylen Joesting; and his brothers-in-law, Federico Rodriguez (Rosa) and Victor Rodriguez (Josefina).
