He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Burns and Lena Burns; his sister Donna Whisman of Alpine, CA; his brother-in-law John Glass of Hannibal, MO; and his in-laws, Monte and Elva Moorehead.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Jeanne Moorehead of Ames; his children, Paula Anderson (Paul) of Ames and Jim Burns of Ames; his sister Sue Glass of Hannibal, MO; his brother-in-law Richard Whisman of Alpine, CA; his grandchildren, Julie Keen (Jason) and Mark Anderson (Kristin); and his great grandchildren, Connor Keen, Megan Keen, Gavin Anderson and Greta Anderson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
