He was predeceased by: his parents, John Essig and Thresa Essig; his sister Emilie Mae Essig; and his wife Janet Karr Essig. He is survived by: his sister Roberta Ford (Essig); his daughter Jill Ann Raymer (Brian); his grandchildren, Meredith, Joseph, Kelsey and Brighid; his daughter Judith Susan Easley (Keith); and his grandchildren, Abigail and Alexander.
