She was predeceased by: her parents, Tilmer Sydnes and Carrie Sydnes (Wee); her parents-in-law, Abbie and Maurice Thompson; her siblings, Darlene Sydnes, Paul, Carroll Sydnes (Barb DeJong) and Helen Kochheiser; her brother-in-law Kenny Kochheiser; her sister Linda Lantz; and her brother-in-law Nero Lantz.
She is survived by: her husband Gary Thompson; her children, Kim Wierson (Tom), Rick Thompson (Renee) and Scott Thompson (Mary); her grandchildren, Matthew Wierson, Chelsea Trowbridge (Aaron), Tyler Wierson, Rachel Thompson, Erica Thompson, Brandon Thompson (Bianca) and Emily Edwards (Austin); her great grandchildren, Ava and Noa Trowbridge; her sister Sandra Wirtz (Garry); and her siblings-in-law, DeLon Thompson and Jackie Christenson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Bethesda Lutheran Church of Ames and the Alzheimer's Association.
