He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James LaVern Hoover Sr. and Helen Hoover (Lovett); his grandfather Lovett; his children, Robert, Donald, Helen, Ralph and Merle; his former spouse Beckie Collins; his wife Joan Ward; his children, Kimberly Clarkson (Jonathan), Karen Murphy and John Hoover; his grandchildren, Tad Hoover, Brittany Young, Courtney Young, Jarred Hoover, Elizabeth Murphy, Sara Murphy, Neil Murphy, Lilly Murphy and Gabriel Clarkson; his stepchildren, Pam Bormann (Tim), Mark Gerber (Mishelle) and Laura Gerber (Joni); his grandchildren, Brianne Nelson (Connor), Kevin Gerber (Amanda), Luke Bormann (Kayla), Joe Bormann, Kelli Bormann, Gabby Gerber and Nate Gerber; his sister Jan (Bob Egger); his pets, Sophie and Samantha; and his sister Donna Valle. He was also cherished by 3 children, 7 grandchildren and later 1 great grandchild.
