He was predeceased by: his parents, Reuel Thompson and Esther Thompson (Harvey); his sisters, Dorothy Nicoloff and Judy Vallesky; and his son-in-law James Snovelle.
He is survived by: his daughters, Bonnie Snovelle of Boone and Betty Grinde (Clark) of Story City; his grandchildren, Zachery Snovelle, Samantha Snovelle, Emma Grinde and John Grinde; and his sister Joyce Loritz.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to University Lutheran Church, St. Andrew's Lutheran Church or University of Wisconsin Foundation for the Henry Ahlgren Scholarship Fund in Agronomy.
