With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gerald Skjordal of Ames, Iowa, born in Roseau, Minnesota, who passed away on January 21, 2024 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Casper Skjordal and Kate Eldora Skjordal (Harding); his wife Carol Rickard; his son Ken; and his siblings, Ralph, Helen, Roy, Donald, Lyle, Kate, Donna and Casper.
He is survived by: his children, John (Edna) of Gilbert, Paul (Bonnie) of Ames and Katy Skjordal (Shawn Reeves) of Dallas, Oregon; his grandchildren, Paul R., Joseph, Jerry, Adangia, Josh, Jessica, John, Johanna, Josselyn, Melinda, Amy and Lucas; his sister Patsy Gunderson (Gary); his in-laws, Arlo Wright, Marty Rickard, Janice Rickard, Mike, Nancy Rickard and Nancy Hose; and his close friend Irene Smith. He is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be directed to the family for purchase of a memorial bench overlooking Ada Hayden lake.
