It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Fern Margaret Ostrem of Ames, Iowa, born in Lamberton, Minnesota, who passed away on June 28, 2024, at the age of 105, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Jennie Stensland (Hausken) and Knute Stensland; her husband Nolan Ostrem; her son Kenneth Ostrem; her daughter-in-law Gloria Ostrem; and her grandson Michael Ostrem.
She is survived by: her daughter Janet Wright (Dick) of Ames; her grandchildren, Kathleen Ostrem of Des Moines, Shelly Whaley (John) of Ames, Jason Hambly (Kim) of Vinton, IA and Shannon Hambly (Tawnya) of Long Grove, IA; her stepgrandchildren, Daniel Wright (Cathy) of Gilbert and Robin Wright of Washington State; and her sisters, Hazel Beach (Homer), Herma Beach (Earnie) and Joyce (Ed Smith). She is also survived by 8 Great-Grandchildren; 5 Step-Great-Grandchildren; 10 Great-Great-Grandchildren; 5 Step-Great-Great Grandchildren; and 1 Great-Great-Great Grandchild.
