With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Elizabeth J. Hempe of Ames, Iowa, born in Chicago, Illinois, who passed away on January 16, 2022 at the age of 86. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Metzler and Elizabeth Metzler (Treinen); and her husband Gene. She is survived by: her sister Loretta Drapp (Tom) of St. Louis, Missouri; and her children, Mark Hempe (Sandy) of Ames, Paul Hempe (Lynn) of Eden Prairie, MN, Dreux Hempe (Mary Jo) of Eden Prairie, MN, Deidre Wahlin (Mike) of Ames, Monica Becht (Richard) of Jamestown, NY and Pippa Hempe of Ames. She is also survived by six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
