He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward B. Sorenson and Hazel R. Sorenson (Thoreson); his son Allan Sorenson; and his brother-in-law Richard Begg. He is survived by: his former wife Sharon Bartlett; his wife Betty Umdenstock; his daughter Deborah Joens of Johnston; his grandchildren, Nathan Joens (Clare Schwager), Taylor Joens, Sydney Sorenson and Sophia Sorensen; his sister Carole Begg; and his stepchildren, Linda Starbuck, Tracy Christensen, Bob Umdenstock (Brenda) and Diann Vega (Tony).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Memorial Lutheran Church or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
