She was predeceased by: her parents, Stuart Argyle and Mabel Ruth Tate (Whipple); her husband Henry L. Hayes; her siblings, Donald Tate, Brooks Tate and Ardith Cozad; and her grandson Lawrence Villwock.

She is survived by: her children, Sheri Olson (Larry) of Ames, Henry S. Hayes of Ames and Randy; her grandchildren, Alenia Lohnes (Mark), Patty Suelflow (Bill), Pam Jones (Ryan), Amelia "Millie" Hayes (Christian Sax), Isaac Hayes (Morgan), Micah Hayes, Spenser Villwock (Amy Weinberg) and Sami Villwock (Tony Galloro); her great grandchildren, Paul Lohnes, Sydney, Carson Jones, Eliana Villwock, Sierra Suelflow, Ernie Galloro and Hayes-Sax; and her niece Donna Marson (Dave) of Council Bluffs, Iowa..
