It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Doris Anne Goering of Ames, Iowa, born in Sigourney, Iowa, who passed away on August 5, 2021, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Harvey Cassens and Margaret Cassens (Goeldner); her siblings, Charles Cassens and Janice Cassens; and her nephew James Cassens.

She is survived by: her husband Donald H. Goering; her daughter Deborah Anne Goering Sinclair (Brian Sinclair); her granddaughters, Heather Anne Sinclair (Evan Maly) and Hannah Elizabeth Sinclair; her son Dennis Harlan Goering (Julie Kae); her grandchild Rees Donald Harlan Goering; her sister Kathleen Cassens Shaver; and her nieces and nephews, Janice, Jean, Joy, Charles, Sally, Mary, David, Becky, Scott and Pat.

Doris always said she wanted to receive flowers while she could enjoy them and insisted that instead of flowers, memorials be directed to the Iowa 4-H Foundation Goering Scholarship, UNI Foundation Goering Scholarship or Northminster Presbyterian Church.
