He is survived by: his children, Doug Gummert (Sue) of Des Moines and Connie Enderson (Chris) of Minburn; his grandchildren, Stacy Gummert, Amy Gummert, Michael Sheldahl and Nathan Sheldahl; and his brothers, Paul Gummert of Story City and Les Gummert (Sharon) of Conrad.
