He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Borst and Mary Borst (Finley); his son Nathan Borst; his brother Jim Borst; his mother-in-law Patricia Carlgren; his nephew Nathan Hagen; and his brother-in-law Ken Grossmann.
He is survived by: his former wife Becky Smith; his wife Linda Ann Carlgren Paris of Ames; his daughters, Kimberly Paris of Denver, CO and Lindsey Zabawa (Tony) of Omaha, NE; his grandchildren, Alyssa, Emma, Tony Zabawa of Omaha and Diggory Borst of Gilbert, IA; his daughter-in-law Lindsay Borst (Peterson) of Gilbert, IA.; his siblings, Terry (Vicki) of Denver, CO and Calli Fink (Don) of Marysville, WA; his sisters-in-law, Barb Borst of Altoona, IA, Sandra Hagen (Kevin) of St Charles, IL, Deb Carlgren of Burlington, IA and Connie Schrader of Des Moines, IA; and his mother-in-law Nonnie Smith.
A funeral service will be held at North Grand Christian Church, 919 30th Street in Ames on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at 1:00 p. m. Due to concern over increasing COVID infection rates, the family will not be receiving friends an hour before the service. Capacity will be limited, masks are required, and social distancing is recommended.
