It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barbara J. Derby of Ames, Iowa, born in Mount Pleasant, Iowa, who passed away on November 14, 2020, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Anderson and Emma Anderson (VanTuyl); her husband Dale Elmer Derby; her siblings, Frances Anderson and Robert Anderson; her granddaughter Christie Blackwood; and her friend Beverly Love.
She is survived by: her children, Jana Allfree, Karla Blackwood (Bruce) and Michael Derby; her grandchildren, Indyca, Dakotah Allfree, Benjamin, Jacqueline Blackwood, Kaleena and Seth Derby; and her great grandchild Izaiah Derby. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, and out of respect for the health and safety of family and friends, there will be a private graveside service for immediate family.
