He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Gilkison and Georgianna Gilkison (Pearson); his wife Sandra (Hamilton); his sister Marlene; and his brother-in-law Dick Mason.
He is survived by: his grandchildren, Aaron Scharmota (Maria), Courtney Gilkison, Brant Gilkison (Karin), Jessi Fox (Richard), Lindsey Poutre (Matt), Charlie Hiemer (Sarah), Alissa Bolles (Tony) and Cassidy LeCroy (Matthew); his great grandchildren, Lexee, Gage, Laney, Frankie, Jett, Nick, Michael, Kennan, Gwendolyn, Treyton, Makynli, Ryker, Layne, Axyl, Liam, Miles, Beckham and Bennett; and his great great grandchild Holocene.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 19th 2025 from 3:30 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hamilton's Altoona Funeral Home (105 4th St SW, Altoona, IA 50009). A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 20th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Centennial United Methodist Church (9150 NE University Ave, Altoona, IA 50009).
