He was predeceased by: his parents, Isabelle Gilliam and Henry Gilliam; his granddaughter Jessica Smith; and his son-in-law Charles Goodhue. He is survived by: his wife Mary Gilliam (Janssens); his daughters, Sheryl Goodhue (Brandon North), Teresa Gilliam and Carey Smith (Larry); his grandchildren, Shawn Carlson, Tyler Goodhue, Jordan Goodhue, Heather Lau, Stephen Lau, Josh Guerra-Lau (Ryan), Michael McDonald and Savannah Smith; and his great grandchildren, Conner Whitacre, Madison Carlson, Chloe Lau and Ryker McDonald.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hamilton's Near Highland Memory Gardens (121 NW 60th Ave, Des Moines, IA 50313). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, November 27th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
