He is survived by: his mother Carole De Jong (Lahr) of Sioux City, IA; his children, Blaine De Jong of Alton, IA and Heather De Jong of Clarinda, IA; his stepson Dennis Stammer of Atlantic, IA; his grandchildren, Evelynn Herbst, Zelda Herbst and Halo De Jong; and his sister Suzanne Reagan of Orange City, IA..
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 17th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at the Mauer Johnson Funeral Home (780 12th St SW, Le Mars, IA 51031). A funeral service was held on Thursday, October 17th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the same location.
