He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Langel and Julianna Langel (Minten); his wives, Judith Hagge, Judy and Cathy Dreckman; and also, Wayne, Marie Hagge (Cathy) and Kathleen Dreckman.
He is survived by: his daughters, Jennifer Langel of Spirit Lake, IA and Kimberly Klock (Dave) of Chancellor, SD; his grandsons, Cody Langel, Kaleb and Jeffrey Klock; his brothers, Jerry Langel (Linda) of Alton, IA and Krissa Bunkers (Justin); his children, Michael Punt and Melissa Harris; and also, Kevin Langel (Kathryn) and Cathie Punt (Les) of Sioux Center, IA. He is also survived by many cousins and great friends.
