He was predeceased by: his parents, Howard Black and Helen Black (Redmond); his parents-in-law, Ronald and Evelyn Anderson; and his brother Howard.

He is survived by: his wife Janice Louise Anderson; his daughters, Jill Gliko (George) of Billings and Joan Black (Dee Wesbrook) of Cedar Rapids, IA.; his brothers, John Black (Bonnie) of Arizona, Neal Black (Connie) and Brian Black (Lorraine); and his siblings-in-law, Sharon Clark (Larry) of Carroll, IA, Sally Bacher (Larry) of Melrose, IA and Ron Anderson of Des Moines, IA. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
