She was predeceased by: her parents, Minno Folkerts and Celia Folkerts (Jepsen); her husband Wayne O. Hewitt; her sisters, Ruth Wunsch and Alice Merfeld; and her nephew Jay Merfeld.
She is survived by: her children, Stan Hewitt (Connie) of Bristow and Wanda Thomas (Randi) of Mason City; her grandson Nathan Hewitt (Laura) of Glenview; her great grandchildren, Oliver and Vivian; her grandson Brandon Thomas; her great grandchildren, Mazzi and Bodhi; her grandchildren, Nick Thomas of Mason City and Chelsi Carlson (Jesse) of Mason City; and her brother-in-law Skip Merfeld. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
