He was predeceased by: his parents, Ed Heyenga and Jennie Heyenga; his wife Joyce Heyenga; and his siblings, Edwin Heyenga (Ethel), John Heyenga (Ruth), Frieda Christensen (Vern), Lydia Henning (John), Caroline Wix (Erv), Joselene Smith (Russell), Grace Heyenga, Esther Klunder (Robert) and Harriet Freesemann (Robert).
He is survived by: his children, William Heyenga of Allison, Thomas Heyenga (Kris) of Cedar Falls, Matthew Heyenga (Sheryl) of Allison and Lisa Russell (Ron) of Parkersburg; and his grandchildren, Sara McVae (Trey) of Oklahoma City, Lindsey Renken (Kendrick) of Aplington, Carly Pollock (Alex) of Parkersburg, Emily Russell of Des Moines and Beau Heyenga of Waterloo.
