He is survived by: his mother Rosario Teresa Cantu (Fuentes); his children, Ashley, Evan and Ethan; his siblings, Rebecca Cantu (Lesa), Fernando Ruben Jr. Cantu (Christine), Rachel Cantu and Rosa Maria Stein; his nieces and nephews, Alexander, Jordan, Brady, Shaliko, Olivia, Colby and Sabrina; his uncle Fred Cantu; his aunts, Maria Edwards (Jeff) and Melba Cantu; and also Ayla.
