He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Poeppe and Lucille Poeppe (Leiting); his wife Sharon Marie Priebe; his siblings, Joan Schulte, Collette Monteros, Loren, Romayne and Clair Poeppe; his son-in-law Larry Evers, Jr.; and his great grandchild Phoenix.

He is survived by: his children, Doug Poeppe (Kim), Darren Poeppe (Julie), Danielle Andersen (Jeff) and Dena Evers; his grandchildren, Jared Poeppe (Lauren), Mark Poeppe (Emily), Sara Horstman (Alan), Josh Poeppe (Shelby), Adam Poeppe, Ethan Poeppe (Ali), Luke Poeppe, Caleb DeRoos (Alyssa), Jessie Redmann (Jason) and Sam Evers; and his siblings, Lois Wenzel, Donna Wernimont, Lee Poeppe and Lynn Poeppe.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 8th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Lentz Funeral Home - Algona (403 E McGregor St, Algona, IA 50511). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Wednesday, April 9th 2025 from 10:30 AM to 11:15 AM at the Divine Mercy Catholic Parish - St. Cecelia (715 E North St, Algona, IA 50511).
