It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Mary Godfredsen (Algona, Iowa), born in Whittemore, Iowa, who passed away on April 24, 2020, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Frank Gappa and Mary Gappa (Waldron); her husband Al Godfredsen; her grandson Danny Pierson; and her siblings, Robert Gappa (Mary) and Marguerite Dale (Dick).
She is survived by: her children, Diane Pierson (Dick) of Greeley, CO, Denise Walker (Don) of Algona, IA, Ron Godfredsen (Renee) of Webster City, IA and Rob Godfredsen (Jill) of Urbandale, IA.. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren.
Due to state and federal guidelines on gatherings due to the COVID – 19 pandemic, the family will delay a public memorial to a later date.
