He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Vaske and Loretta Vaske (Haupert); his brothers, Robert (Betty) and Allen (Rosemary); his nephew Vern Vaske; and his nephews-in-law, Arnie Berte and Doug Molacek.

He is survived by: his wife Barb; his godson Joe Vaske (Virginia); and his nieces and nephews, Larry Vaske (Cindy), Mary Berte, Rose Molacek, Julie Penning (Denny), Rita Frette (Mike), Richard Vaske (Melissa) and Sheila Burma.
