He is survived by: his son Mark of Des Moines; his grandsons, Jordan Shimon of Algona and Evan Shimon of Ankeny; his son-in-law Lawerance Shimon of Ankeny; and his brother Robert Diekmann. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
