He was predeceased by: his parents, Rufus Lindhorst and Myrtle Lindhorst (Bell); and his siblings, Margaret Winifred Ewoldt (Elmer "Jum"), Mansiel "Bill" Lindhorst (Gena), Kenneth Dean Lindhorst (Betty), Myrtle Maxine Platt (Francis) and Vida May Roth (Oscar).
He is survived by: his wife Janice Bjustrom of Algona; his children, Rhonda Rork (Rod) of Humboldt and Tim Lindhorst (Kristi) of Burt; his granddaughter Afton of Burt; his sister-in-law Jeanette Ozimek (Stanley) of Venice, FL; and his close friend Randy Crouse of Humboldt. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
His dedication to growing sweet corn was surpassed only by his commitment to community, as he selflessly donated his harvest to the First United Methodist Church's pork chop supper.
