She was predeceased by: her parents, Severin Opheim and Martha Opheim (Bierstedt); her husband Orie "Bud" Petersen Jr.; her stepfather Robert Eickelcamp; her daughter Vickie Elbert; her son-in-law Randy Elbert; and her brothers, Glenn, Stanley and Harold Opheim.
She is survived by: her children, Kevin Petersen of Cedar Rapids and Melissa Rash (Kevin) of Algona; and her sisters, Maxine Cunningham of Algona and Eunice Traub of West Bend.
