It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gary A. Bernau (Algona, Iowa), who passed away on April 21, 2019, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Roland Bernau and Anna Bernau (Jensen); and his brother Merlin. He is survived by: his wife Patricia; and his children, David (Joleen), James (Mary), William (Debbie) and Susan (Mark Abernathy). He is also survived by many cousins, whom he loved like siblings.
