He was predeceased by: his parents, John Johnson and Alvena Johnson (Engelbarts); his wife Laura Riedel; and his siblings, Glen, Raymond, Ervin, Everet, Reuben, Merl, Laura Willey, Alice Nauman, Luella Hagedorn and Helen Kessel.
He is survived by: his children, Carolyn Marshall of Algona, Marvin Johnson (Nancy) of Whittemore, Marlene Boeckholt (John) of Burt and Jerry Johnson (Becky) of Bancroft; his grandchildren, Mandy Marshall, Molly Perez (Fernando), Bethany Marshall, Jennifer Gogerty (Eric), Eric Johnson, Jesse Johnson, Ryan Boeckholt (Shelly), Ramsey Boeckholt, Brice Boeckholt (Amanda), Lexa Boeckholt, Jared Johnson (Tasha) and Amy Oxenford (Joe); his sister Viola Albers of Britt; and his sisters-in-law, LaDonna Johnson, Lillian Johnson and Ramona Johnson. He is also survived by ten great-grandchildren.
