It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Cletus L. Zwiefel of Algona, Iowa, who passed away on February 22, 2025, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Glenn Zwiefel and Myrtle Zwiefel (Householder); his wife Darlene; his brothers, Donald Zwiefel (Carol) and Merrill Zwiefel (Phyliss); and his sister-in-law Thelma Zwiefel.
He is survived by: his children, Roberta Olson (Tracy) of Oak Grove, MN, Sandra Boekelman (Calvin) of Algona, Gerald Zwiefel (Laura) of Burt, Marlene Harang (Rick) of Leland and Renee Bormann (Kevin) of Algona; his grandchildren, Kelsey Olson of Oak Grove, MN, Stacy Boekelman (Kalie) of Arnegard, ND, Lisa DeGroot (Tony) of Remsen, Miranda Ruland (TJ) of Wall, SD, Jace Boekelman (Hope) of Titonka, Ashley Van Hill (Mike) of Hartford, SD, Justin Zwiefel (Annie) of Burt, Jillian Van Epps (Nathan) of Britt, Jordan Harang (Megan) of Leland, Malorie Liss (Garrett) of Algona and Trevor Bormann of Whittemore; and his siblings, Gary Zwiefel of Titonka, Brian Zwiefel (Donna) of Algona and Patsy Mugan of Valley City, ND. He is also survived by 26 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Algona First United Methodist Church (201 E Nebraska St, Algona, IA 50511). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location.
