She was predeceased by: her parents, Mandius Hanson and Johanna Hanson (Torkelson); her husband Jim; her grandson Joshua; and her siblings, Jeannette Carlson (Merle), Orville Hanson (Shirley), Arlene Blumer (Jim), John Hanson (Marion), Clarence Hanson, Merle Hanson (JoAnn), Clara Teeter and Edward Hanson.

She is survived by: her child Haack Diesel; her stepdaughter Carla Marie; her children, Gloria Alexander (Kim) of Austin, TX, Dianne Stinehart (Kenny) of Spencer, IA, Harold Haack (Jeanine) of Algona, IA, Carol Holmes (Randy) of Algona, IA, Brenda Stille (Gary) of Storm Lake, IA and Linda Richmond (Don Phillips) of Beloit, WI.; her stepdaughter Carla Holzworth (Kevin) of Monroe, OR; and her sister Marie Volentine. She is also survived by her infectious laugh, love of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and her countless friends.
