He is survived by: his wife Betty Hartl of Alburnett; his children, Ruth Pierce (Rick) of Hiawatha, Donna Hanley of Bryant, Arkansas, Carol Sauer of Marion, Paul Hartl (Kathy) of Central City and Nancy McGovern (Randy) of Anamosa; and his sister Helen Swenka of Hills. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren.
