He was predeceased by: his parents, William Edmond and Dora Elizabeth Powers (Schreiner); his wife Charlotte; his siblings, Edna Johnson (Harold), Ione Nietert (Raymond), Orlenea and Leo Powers (Dorothy); and his son Delbert.
He is survived by: his children, Debra Thein, Rebecca Anderson (Karryl), Donald Powers (Colleen) and James Powers (Dave Thompson); and his grandchildren, Ryan Toom (Tina), Carissa Lala (Brian), Michael Toom, Jonas Anderson (Elizabeth), Darryl Anderson (Becca), Megan Schulte (Ben Hysler) and Daniel Powers. He is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
Due to state and federal guidance on gatherings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family will not be having any public services at this time.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Howard's memory may be directed to the family.
