He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Jurgensen and Kizzie Jurgensen (Fields); his son Dan Jurgensen; his grandson Patrick Jurgensen; and his sisters, Mildred Bruhn and Marguerite Natto.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Lou Wesley; his sons, John Jurgensen (Judy) of Bolivar, MO, Ted Jurgensen (Janet) of Osceola, IA and Matt Jurgensen (Kristi) of Bellevue, NE; his daughter-in-law Kris Jurgensen of Liberty, MO; his grandchildren, Chad Jurgensen (Kelly), Melissa Jurgensen, Katy Woolworth (Jared), Kyle Jurgensen (Lisa), Kayla Jurgensen, Amy Jurgensen and Mary Alice Jurgensen; his granddaughter-in-law Jessica Jurgensen; his great grandchildren, Garrett, Drew, Lauren, Weston, Nickolai Jurgensen and Norah Woolworth; and his brother-in-law Jim (Alice). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, other family members, as well as good friends.
A memorial has been established to the Welcome Home Soldier Memorial in Albia.
