He was predeceased by: his parents, John Bakalar and May Bakalar (Van Gilder); his grandson Marshall Capps; his sisters, Mary Benac, Marge King, Barb Davison, Minnie Harvey and Nancy Walton; and his half-sisters, Jenny and Betty.
He is survived by: his former wives, Karen Lockard, Virginia Stewart and Debbie Ellis (Wilson); his wife Debra K. Bakalar of Albia; his children, Penny Bakalar, Paula Bakalar Van Loon, Tony Bakalar, Becky Coranado (Manuel) and Shannon Murrey (Scott); his stepson Bryan Ellis (Laurissa); his grandchildren, Joey, Dylan, Tanya, T. J., Leah, Ben, Zane, Trey, Estrella, Aria, Kylee, Raven, Courtney, Breanna and Gavin; and his siblings, John "Bryce" Bakalar, Evelyn Repp, Peg Walker, Tom Bakalar (Violet), Linda Schilling (Kenny) and Bev Ragan (Ray). He is also survived by many great grandchildren.
Memorials may be directed to the family and will be determined at a later date.
