He is survived by: his former wife Mary Ann Ciska; his daughter Jennifer; his wife Rita Porterfield of Albia; his friend John Cardenzana; his children, John Freshwater (Pam) of Albia, Michelle Mihalovich (Todd) of Centerville, Jenny Romanco (Kelly) of Albia and Michael Freshwater (Sherry) of Moulton; his stepdaughters, Alicia Sivelle of Killeen, TX and Stacey Bretches (Rick) of Ephrata, Washington; his grandchildren, Colton Mihalovich, Shaelynn Freshwater, Ryan Romanco, Hannah Romanco, Bret Freshwater, Creighton Mihalovich, Macey Lathrop (Chad), Carly Mihalovich, Andrew Wright and Ann Marie Freshwater; his stepgrandchildren, Zackary Sivelle, Bryan Sivelle and Joey Erwin; his siblings, Gary Freshwater (Renee) of Albia, Carolyn Miller of Alliance, OH and Patty VanWeelden of Albia; and his pet Mac. He is also survived by several in-laws, nieces, nephews, good friends.
In lieu of flowers, an open memorial has been established to the family.
