She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Cozad and Grace Cozad (Sage); her husband Richard Briles; her son Jack Briles; and her siblings, Edna Fanta, Martha Malone (Bill), Darlene "Eunice" Mangello, Betty Reno, Lester Cozad, James Cozad, Roy Cozad, Billy Cozad, Louise Shipman, Floyd Cozad, Donald "Cozy" Cozad, Bernice, Barbara and Marcella.
She is survived by: her grandchildren, Mindy McBride and Michael Briles; her sister Geraldine Speilman; and her great-niece Sarah Thomas. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
A memorial has been established to Benton Place Apartments in Albia.
