She was predeceased by: her parents, P. V. Fitzpatrick and Nellie Fitzpatrick (Viertz); her husband John P. Knowles; her siblings-in-law, Ed Mahoney, Tom Cottrell, Pat Knowles, Leo Beary, Mary Mahoney and Mary Lou Fitzpatrick; her nephews, Tommy Cottrell and Jim Cottrell; her niece-in-law Julie Cottrell; and her niece Rita Kalmes.
She is survived by: her children, Joann McDonald (Tom) of Albia, Sheila Denburger (Randy) of Oskaloosa, Mike Knowles (Jane) of Melrose and Joe Knowles (Kris) of Melrose; her grandchildren, Pat McDonald (Brenda), Andrea West (Jason Smith), Scott McDonald (Melissa), Kevin McDonald (Felicia), Katie Eipers (Brian), Sarah Martin (Tom), Andy Denburger (Amber), Betsy Miller (Joe), Jill Christiansen (Tor), Joe Knowles (Kari) and John Knowles (Peyton); and her siblings, LaVera Cottrell and Harold Fitzpatrick. She is also survived by 33 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren.
