He was predeceased by: his father Donald Hunt; and his brother David Leroy Hunt. He is survived by: his mother Joan Hunt (Heitman); his fiancée Susie Long; his sons, Michael and Timothy Cox; his sisters, Kathy Hunt, Kyla Hunt, Susan Oaks (Roger) and Carol Steffen (Dan); and his grandchildren, Harley Leeroy, Trenton and Ryder. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, and good friends.
