She was predeceased by: her parents, Jack Petersen and Norma Petersen (Spradling); her sister Leann Petersen; and her nephew Michael Petersen. She is survived by: her children, Travis Nagel, Trina Clark and Amanda Toopes; her grandchildren, Ryne Fuller, Owen Fuller (Skylar), Michael Fuller, Jacob Nagel and Jaxson Nagel; her siblings, Meridel Folkerts (Wendell), Michael Petersen (Annette), Karen Morman, Terry Petersen, Jack Petersen (Lori) and Reed Petersen; and her close friends, Margie Riemersma, Sherry Kass, Monica Ridout, Becky Gustafson and John Barnes (Gail). She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A memorial has been established to the Welcome Home Soldier Monument in Albia.
