He was predeceased by: his parents, Lloyd Stafford and Florence Stafford (Fisher); his son Bryan Dye; and his brothers, Richard and Earl Stafford.
He is survived by: his wife Vivian Stafford; his sons, Mark Stafford (Tami) and Paul Stafford (Susie); his grandchildren, Jesse, Ella, Evelyn, Jacob, Daniel, Tyler and Shelby; his great grandchildren, Ethan, Nathan, Drex and Kayden; and his siblings, James "Bud" Stafford (Kitty), Bob Stafford (Dianna), Eileen Davis (Elmer), Donna Dinneen and Pauline Hendron (Pat). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends.
A memorial has been established to the Welcome Home Soldier Monument in Albia.
