She was predeceased by: her parents, George Nucko and Maude Grace Nucko (Fry); her husband Michael Thomas; her sons, Michael "Mick" Murphy and Thomas Joseph Murphy; her grandson Billy Murphy; her daughter-in-law Jean Murphy; and her siblings, Mamie Manley, Eleanor Harris, Edwin Hurd and Joseph Nucko.
She is survived by: her son Bill Murphy (Judy); her daughter-in-law Charlene Murphy; and her grandchildren, Joni Halford, Michael Murphy, Mark Murphy (Marina), Tommy Murphy (Christina), Annie Prescott (John), Jennifer Sinclair (Mike), Lynn Beard (Mike) and Becky Teno (Mike). She is also survived by 18 great grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren.
A memorial has been established to the Welcome Home Soldier Monument in Albia.
